Anxiety Induced Erectile Dysfunction

Last updated on July 23rd, 2018

When I first started dealing with ED at a young age, it seemed the struggle became anxiety induced erectile dysfunction. It was like a snowball effect. The ED created anxiety which created more problems with getting a good, hard erection.

The physician assistant I see told me the reason that stress and anxiety causes problems is that the blood that should be headed toward the penis is instead diverted to taking care of the stress response. No blood flow to the penis means no erection.

This never-ending cycle is difficult to break out of. Part of me didn’t even want to start something sexual with my wife because I was nervous that the impotence would strike again. I was nervous before I even got started.

When I did manage to get a nice erection, my anxiety would take over concerned that I would not be able to stay up for long. You can imagine how that turned out. Or maybe you’re living with it now.

How Did I Cope With Anxiety Induced Erectile Dysfunction

Despite my best efforts at having mind over matter, I have never been able to conquer the anxiety. I’ve never seen a professional therapist, maybe that would help. The best thing I have done is find a medicine that has been almost fool proof. In my case, that medicine has been Bimix penile injections.

When I take an injection, it begins working and doesn’t stop until after my wife and I have sex. The anxiety was there at first, but once I realized the medicine was going to work, I was able to stop focusing on my erection, and instead focus on the experience.

Before I began using Bimix, there were three things I would try that sometimes worked.

If I knew that my wife and I were going to try to have sex, I would have a small amount of wine. Not enough to get drunk or anything, but enough to take a little of the edge off. That seemed to help.

I one time used a Viagra with a small amount of wine, and that was a really good experience. The Viagra did the trick and the alcohol helped calm my nerves.

The other thing that worked was just having my wife surprise me with wanting to have sex. She was sometimes leery to do this since my ability to get an erection is so unreliable, but there have been times where she’ll start things right there in bed without me knowing ahead of time, and since I don’t have time to get nervous I’m able to just enjoy things.

Mental Impotence Healer

Lastly, I purchased a product called the Mental Impotence Healer. It is a digitally mastered guided imagery MP3 recording with theta brainwave music. The program is designed to put you in to a relaxing state of self-hypnosis, so you can receive a series of mental images that activate your imagination and calm your anxiety. Sounds crazy, but it worked, and was a lot cheaper than a shrink. Check it out for yourself here.

Talk to Your Doctor About Anxiety Induced Erectile Dysfunction

If erectile dysfunction anxiety is causing a snowball effect for you, talk to your doctor about it. They will hopefully be able to take you down a path to getting things right and maybe even suggest a good sex therapist that can help you through things.

Erectile dysfunction anxiety feels like a continuous cycle that you can never get out of. But in my case I was able to overcome it with good medicine and a good conversation with my doctor.

Have you been able to overcome anxiety induced erectile dysfunction? I’d love to know how.

Mike D

I have struggled with erectile dysfunction since I was in my 20s. It hasn't been easy dealing with it, but with the help of a doctor, medications, and a great wife, I have been able to overcome ED. I created this site to help out other guys who are dealing with the same situation.
